Compatibility increases with naphthenic content and this increases viscosity-gravity constants, aromatic levels and lowers aniline points. Stability to color degradation and resistance to oxidation and aging requires that the level of polar or heterocyclic aromatics containing nitrogen, sulfur, and oxygen be kept to a minimum.
